ഇടുക്കി മെഡിക്കൽ കോളജിൽ അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ ഒരുക്കാത്തതിൽ വിദ്യാർഥി പ്രതിഷേധം. ആവശ്യമായ പഠന സൗകര്യം ഒരുക്കാമെന്ന സർക്കാർ വാഗ്ദാനം മൂന്ന് വർഷം പിന്നിട്ടിട്ടും പാലിക്കാതെ വന്നതോടെയാണ് വിദ്യാർഥികൾ വീണ്ടും സമരത്തിനിറങ്ങിയത്.

കൊട്ടിഘോഷിച്ച് ആഘോഷമായി തുടങ്ങിയ ഇടുക്കി മെഡിക്കൽ കോളജിൽ ജില്ല ആശുപത്രിയിലുള്ള സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ പോലുമില്ല. കിറ്റ്കോയുടെ മേൽനോട്ടത്തിൽ ആറ് മോഡുലർ ഓപ്പറേഷൻ തിയേറ്ററുകളുള്ള കോംപ്ലക്സിന്റെ പണി തുടങ്ങി വർഷങ്ങൾ പിന്നിട്ടിട്ടും ഇതുവരെ പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയിട്ടില്ല. ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റർ വരുന്ന റോഡ് നിർമിക്കാൻ പതിനാറരക്കോടി രൂപ അനുവദിച്ചെങ്കിലും കരാറുകാരനും കിറ്റ്കോയും തമ്മിലുള്ള തർക്കം മൂലം പണി ഇഴഞ്ഞു നീങ്ങുകയാണ് 

എത്രയും പെട്ടെന്ന് പണികൾ പൂർത്തിയാക്കണമെന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് ആരോഗ്യം, വൈദ്യുതി, പൊതുമരാമത്ത് വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രിമാർക്ക് വിദ്യാർഥികൾ പരാതി നൽകി. ഒരാഴ്ചയ്ക്കകം പരാതിക്ക് പരിഹാരമായില്ലെങ്കിൽ അനിശ്ചിതകാല സമരം തുടങ്ങാനാണ് തീരുമാനം

Students of Idukki Medical College have launched a fresh protest against the lack of essential academic and medical infrastructure. Despite government assurances given three years ago, the college currently lacks even the basic facilities found in district hospitals. Key projects, including a modular operation theater complex supervised by KITCO and a one-kilometer access road funded with ₹16.5 crore, remain stalled due to disputes and administrative delays. The students have submitted formal complaints to the Health, Electricity, and PWD ministers, warning of an indefinite strike if their grievances are not addressed within a week.
