വിജയമാഘോഷിക്കാനെത്തിയ ആർസിബി ആരാധകർ ഒട്ടും പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചില്ലാ കണ്ണീരിൽ മുങ്ങിയ ചിന്നസ്വാമി സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തില്‍ നില്‍ക്കേണ്ടിവരുമെന്ന്. ഐപിഎല്ലിലെ ആദ്യ വിജയത്തിന് ശേഷം ചിന്നസ്വാമി സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തിൽ റോയൽ ചാലഞ്ചേഴ്സ് ബെംഗളൂരുവിന്  ഒരുക്കിയ സ്വീകരണത്തിനിടെ തിക്കിലും തിരക്കിലും ഒന്‍പത് പേരാണ് മരിച്ചത്.

ആർസിബി ആഘോഷത്തിനെത്തിയവർ ഒത്തു കൂടിയതാണ് അപകടത്തിന് കാരണമായത്. പരുക്കേറ്റവരെ ആശുപത്രികളിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. രാവിലെ മുതൽ സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തിനു മുന്നിൽ വലിയ തിരക്കായിരുന്നു. സ്ത്രീകളും കുട്ടികളും ഉൾപ്പെടെ സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തിലേക്കെത്തിയിരുന്നു.

20ഓളം പേര്‍ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സ തേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പരിക്കേറ്റവരെ ബൗറിംഗ് ആശുപത്രിയിലും ലേഡി കഴ്സൺ ആശുപത്രിയിലും പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇവരിൽ മൂന്ന് പേരുടെ നില ഗുരുതരമാണെന്നാണ് ലഭിക്കുന്ന വിവരം. മരിച്ചവരിൽ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയുമുണ്ട്. ഇത്ര പെട്ടെന്ന് ബെംഗളൂരു പോലെയൊരു നഗരത്തിൽ വിജയാഘോഷം സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചത് ഗുരുതര സുരക്ഷാ വീഴ്ചയായാണ് വിലയിരുത്തപ്പെടുന്നത്.  

തിരക്ക് പരിഗണിച്ച് ഐ.പി.എല്ലിലെ വിജയാഘോഷത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായുള്ള ആര്‍.സി.ബിയുടെ വിക്ടറി പരേഡ് ചിന്നസ്വാമി സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തില്‍ മാത്രമാക്കി ചുരുക്കിയിരുന്നു. ഇതിന് പിന്നാലെ വലിയ സമ്മര്‍ദ്ദമാണ് സര്‍ക്കാറിനും പൊലീസിനുമുകളിലും ഉണ്ടായത്. ആര്‍സിബി ആരാധകര്‍ കാത്തിരുന്ന നിമിഷമായതിനാല്‍ ക്ലബ് അടക്കം വിക്ടറി പരേധിന് വാദിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
