റോഡ് നിർമാണത്തിനിടെ കരാർ കമ്പനിയുടെ പിഴവിനെ തുടർന്നുണ്ടായ മണ്ണിടിച്ചിൽ ലക്ഷംവീട് ഉന്നതിയിലെ 12 വീടുകളാണ് തകർന്നത്. ഇവിടെ നിന്ന് മാറ്റിപ്പാർപ്പിച്ചവർക്ക് വാടകയും, ഇൻഷുറൻസ് പരിരക്ഷയും നൽകാമെന്ന ഉറപ്പ് ദുരന്തമുണ്ടായി രണ്ടുമാസം പിന്നിട്ടിട്ടും പാലിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ഇതിനെതിരെയാണ് കരാർ കമ്പനിയുടെ യാർഡ് സ്ത്രീകളും കുട്ടികളുമുൾപ്പെടെ ഉപരോധിച്ചത് 

കോൺക്രീറ്റ് മതിലുകൾ പണിതെങ്കിലും മേഖലയിൽ ഇപ്പോഴും മണ്ണിടിച്ചിൽ ഭീഷണി നിലനിൽക്കുകയാണ്. ആശങ്കയ്ക്ക് പൂർണമായി പരിഹാരം കാണാൻ കരാർ കമ്പനിയോ റവന്യൂ അധികൃതരോ തയാറായിട്ടില്ല. അവഗണന തുടർന്നാൽ ദേശീയപാത ഉപരോധമുൾപ്പടെയുള്ള പ്രതിഷേധവുമായി മുന്നോട്ടു പോകാനാണ് സമരസമിതിയുടെ തീരുമാനം
