സിക്കിമിലെ നാംചിയില്‍ ജലവൈദ്യുത പദ്ധതിയുടെ നിര്‍മാണത്തിലുള്ള തുരങ്കം തകര്‍ന്നുണ്ടായ അപകടത്തില്‍ കാണാതയവരില്‍ കോട്ടയം സ്വദേശിയും. മണര്‍കാട് സ്വദേശി അനീഷ് മോഹനെയാണ് കാണാതെയായത്. നാഷനല്‍ ഹൈഡ്രോ പവര്‍ കോര്‍പറേഷനില്‍ സിക്കിം യൂണിറ്റിന്‍റെ മാനേജരാണ് അനീഷ്. അനീഷ് ഉള്‍പ്പടെ അഞ്ചുപേരെ കണ്ടെത്താനുള്ള തിരച്ചില്‍ നടക്കുകയാണ്. അപകടത്തില്‍ 20 പേര്‍ മരിച്ചിരുന്നു. മരിച്ചവരുടെ ആശ്രിതര്‍ക്ക് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ നാലുലക്ഷം രൂപ സഹായം പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. പരുക്കേറ്റവര്‍ക്ക് 50,000 രൂപ വീതവും നല്‍കും.

അപകടസമയത്ത് അനീഷ് മോഹനും മറ്റ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരുമടക്കം 25 പേരാണ് തുരങ്കത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. അധികൃതരുടെ നിര്‍ദേശപ്രകാരം അനീഷിന്‍റെ ഭാര്യ സംഗീതയെയും സഹോദരനെയും സിക്കിമിലേക്ക് എത്തിച്ചു. 2011 മുതല്‍ എന്‍എച്ച്പിസിയില്‍ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനാണ് അനീഷ്. ഡല്‍ഹിയിലാണ് ഇവര്‍ താമസിച്ചിരുന്നത്.

Anish Mohan, a native of Kottayam, Kerala, is among the five missing individuals following the collapse of a under-construction hydroelectric project tunnel in Namchi, South Sikkim. A manager for the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), Mohan was inside the Teesta hydroelectric project tunnel when a methane gas leak triggered a massive explosion. The disaster has resulted in 20 fatalities, prompting the government to announce compensation of four lakh rupees for the families of the deceased and 50,000 rupees for the injured. Authorities are continuing search and rescue operations for the missing personnel, while the Sikkim government has appointed an expert committee to investigate the gas leak.
