13ാം നമ്പര്‍ കാര്‍ സ്വീകരിക്കാന്‍ വിസമ്മതിച്ച്  മന്ത്രിമാര്‍. കഴിഞ്ഞ സര്‍ക്കാരില്‍ പി.പ്രസാദാണ് 13–ാം നമ്പര്‍ കാര്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നത്.  പുതിയ മന്ത്രിമാര്‍ 13ാം നമ്പര്‍ വേണ്ടെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞതോടെ ഇത് ഒഴിവാക്കി. മുന്‍പും യുഡിഎഫ് മന്ത്രിസഭയിലെ ആരും 13–ാം നമ്പർ കാർ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. 

മുന്‍മന്ത്രിമാരില്‍ തോമസ് ഐസകും, 2006 ലെ അച്യുതാനന്ദന്‍ സര്‍ക്കാരില്‍ എം.എ.ബേബിയും പതിമൂന്നാം നമ്പര്‍ കാറാണ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചത്. പതിമൂന്നാം നമ്പര്‍ കാര്‍ വേണ്ടെന്ന് പറയുന്നത് അന്ധവിശ്വാസമാണെന്നും ഈ നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലും ഇത്തരം കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ തുടരുന്നത് കഷ്ടമാണെന്നും മന്ത്രിയായപ്പോള്‍ പി.പ്രസാദ് പ്രതികരിച്ചിരുന്നു. 13ന് ജനിച്ചാല്‍ തിരുത്താന്‍ കഴിയില്ലല്ലോ എന്നും ഓണവും വിഷുവുമെല്ലാം ആ ദിവസവും വരാമല്ലോ, 13 എന്ന സംഖ്യ കൊണ്ട് എല്ലാം തകരുമെങ്കില്‍ എന്തെല്ലാം പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്നായിരുന്നു പി.പ്രസാദ് അന്ന് പറഞ്ഞത്.

ഒന്നാം പിണറായി മന്ത്രിസഭയുടെ തുടക്കത്തിൽ 13–ാം നമ്പർ കാർ ഏറ്റെടുക്കാൻ പല മന്ത്രിമാരും മടിച്ചു നിന്നപ്പോൾ ഐസക് മുന്നോട്ടു വന്നു. 13–ാം നമ്പ‍റിനെ ഇടതു മന്ത്രിമാർക്കു പേടിയാണെന്നു പരിഹസിച്ചു ബിജെപി നേതാവ് കെ.സുരേന്ദ്രൻ ഫെയ്സ്ബുക്കിൽ പോസ്റ്റി‍ട്ടതോടെ, ഐസക് അത് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു. വി.എസ്.സുനിൽകുമാറും കെ.ടി.ജലീലും മുന്നോട്ടു വന്നെങ്കിലും ഐസക് തന്നെ ഏറ്റെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

The newly appointed ministers of the VD Satheesan cabinet in Kerala have reportedly refused to accept the official state vehicle assigned with the number 13. Following the collective reluctance from the UDF team, the tourism department has officially omitted number 13 from the current list of ministerial cars. In the previous LDF administration, CPI leader P. Prasad had broken templates by driving the number 13 car, loudly criticizing such numeric anxieties as outdated superstitions. Historically, senior left leaders like MA Baby in 2006 and Thomas Isaac in 2016 had intentionally claimed the number 13 vehicle to challenge irrational beliefs, especially after public taunts from opposition parties. However, with the change of guard, the long-standing tradition of UDF cabinets avoiding the "unlucky" number 13 has officially made a comeback.
