The Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) has revoked its controversial decision to implement mandatory digital payments at its premium self-help counters. Initially set to begin tomorrow, the order required customers to use only UPI or card payments, excluding cash transactions entirely. Following widespread public backlash and concerns from employees, the MD has now allowed cash payments to continue alongside digital options. Critics argued that the move would alienate customers without digital access and lead to unnecessary disputes at counters. The decision aimed at promoting transparency has been temporarily put on hold to ensure customer convenience.
