യുവാവും യുവതിയും പരിപാടിയിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുകയും നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുകയും ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ കോക്ടെയിലുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെ അമിതമായ അളവിൽ മദ്യം കഴിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതായി ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നാലെ അസ്വസ്ഥതകള്‍ പ്രകടമാക്കിയ ഇരുവരേയും ഉടൻ തന്നെ ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റുകയായിരുന്നു. ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സയിലിരിക്കെയാണ് യുവാവിന്‍റെ മരണം. അതേസമയം, യുവതിയുടെ നിലമെച്ചപ്പെട്ടു വരുന്നതായും ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ പറഞ്ഞു.

നിർജ്ജലീകരണമാണ് മരണ കാരണമെന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക പരിശോധനകള്‍ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. എന്നിരുന്നാലും കൂടുതൽ അന്വേഷണത്തിന് ശേഷം മാത്രമേ കൃത്യമായ കാരണം തിരിച്ചറിയാനാകൂം എന്നും പൊലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു. സംഭവത്തില്‍ ടാർഡിയോ പൊലീസ് അപകടമരണത്തിന് കേസെടുത്ത് അന്വേഷണമാരംഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

കഴിഞ്ഞ ഏപ്രില്‍ സമാന സംഭവത്തില്‍ രണ്ട് എംബിഎ വിദ്യാർഥികള്‍ മരിച്ചിരുന്നു. മുംബൈയിലെ ഗോരേഗാവില്‍ സംഗീത പരിപാടിക്കിടെ ലഹരിമരുന്ന് അമിതമായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചതായിരുന്നു മരണകാരണം. സംഭവത്തില്‍ നിരവധി പേരെ പൊലീസ് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
