സംഭവത്തില് കാനഡ പൊലീസ് കേസ് റജിസ്റ്റര് ചെയ്തു. പ്രതിക്കായി തിരച്ചില് തുടരുകയാണ്. പഠനത്തിനായി കാനഡയിലെത്തിയ മേഘ്നി നാലു വര്ഷമായി അവിടെയാണ്. പാര്ട്ട് ടൈം ജോലികള് ചെയ്താണ് മുന്നോട്ട് പോയിരുന്നതെന്നും പൊലീസ് പറയുന്നു. സിസിടിവി ദൃശ്യങ്ങളടക്കം പൊലീസ് ശേഖരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
