സൊമാലിയയില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ലോകകപ്പ്  റഫറി ഒമാര്‍ അര്‍ത്താന് വീസ നിഷേധിച്ചതില്‍ ഒടുവില്‍ പ്രതികരിച്ച് ഫിഫ. ഫിഫയൊരു സാധാരണ കായിക സംഘടനയാണെന്നും അര്‍ത്താനെ യുഎസില്‍ പ്രവേശിപ്പിക്കണമെന്ന് നിര്‍ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയില്ലെന്നും വീസക്കാര്യങ്ങളില്‍ ആരാധകര്‍ രോഷം കൊള്ളരുതെന്നുമാണ് ഫിഫ പ്രസിഡന്‍റ് ജിയാനി ഇന്‍ഫാന്‍റിനോയുടെ പ്രതികരണം. 'ഫിഫ ലോകത്തെ സര്‍ക്കാരുകളെയും പൊലീസിനെയും നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്ന രാജാക്കന്‍മാരല്ല. കേവലം കായിക സംഘടനയാണ്. സാധ്യമാകുന്നതെല്ലാം െചയ്യാന്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്'– ഇന്‍ഫാന്‍റിനോ പറഞ്ഞു. 

ഫൈനല്‍ ലിസ്റ്റ് വന്ന ശേഷമാണ് സൊമാലിയക്കാരനായ ഒമാര്‍ അര്‍ത്താന്‍ ലോകകപ്പിനായി പുറപ്പെട്ട് ഇസ്താംബൂളില്‍ നിന്ന് മയാമി രാജ്യാന്തര വിമാനത്താവളത്തിലെത്തിയത്. യുഎസ് വീസ നിഷേധിച്ചതോടെ അര്‍ത്താന് മടങ്ങേണ്ടി വന്നു. 'ഭീകര സംഘടനകളിലെ അംഗങ്ങളെന്ന് സംശയിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരുമായി അര്‍ത്താന് ബന്ധമുണ്ടെന്ന്' ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടിയാണ് വീസ നിഷേധിച്ചത്.

'തീര്‍ത്തും ദൗര്‍ഭാഗ്യകരമാണ് അര്‍ത്താന്‍റെ കാര്യത്തില്‍ സംഭവിച്ചത്. പക്ഷേ എന്ത് ചെയ്യാനാണ് കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാം ഫിഫയുടെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തില്‍ അല്ല. പരമാവധി ശ്രമിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്, ചര്‍ച്ചകള്‍ നടക്കുന്നു. ചിലപ്പോഴൊക്കെ ഇത്തരം കാര്യങ്ങളില്‍ സമാധാനപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതാണ് നല്ലത്. എല്ലാം ശരിയാക്കാന്‍ നോക്കുന്നുണ്ട്'- ഇന്‍ഫാന്‍റിനോ വിശദീകരിച്ചു. 'എന്തെങ്കിലും വിഷയമുണ്ടായാലുടന്‍ തെരുവിലിറങ്ങി അലറി വിളിച്ചാല്‍ പരിഹാരം കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതിന് പ്രതിസന്ധിയുണ്ടാകും. തടസമൊഴിവാക്കാന്‍ ഫിഫ പരമാവധി നോക്കുന്നു. പക്ഷേ ഓരോ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ നിയമങ്ങളെ മാനിക്കുന്നതും മര്യാദയാണ്'  എന്നും അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു. 

ലോകകപ്പില്‍ ഇറാനെ പങ്കെടുപ്പിക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞതിനെ വലിയ നേട്ടമായാണ് കാണുന്നതെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. അമേരിക്കയില്‍ ഇറാനെ എത്തിക്കാനും കളിക്കാനും കഴിയുമെന്ന് വിചാരിച്ചിരുന്നതല്ല. പക്ഷേ അത് സാധ്യമായി. നമ്മള്‍ ചന്ദ്രനിലൊന്നുമല്ല, ഈ ഭൂമിയിലാണല്ലോ ജീവിക്കുന്നത്. കഴിവിന്‍റെ പരമാവധി എല്ലാ കാര്യങ്ങളിലും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും ഫിഫ പ്രസിഡന്‍റ് കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു. വീസ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളും അര്‍ത്താന്‍റെ വിഷയവുമെല്ലാം ഉണ്ടായെങ്കിലും ലോകകപ്പ് വേദിയായി അമേരിക്കയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തതില്‍ തനിക്ക് ഖേദമില്ലെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
