കോയിവിള സ്വദേശി അതുല്യ. 2014ൽ ആയിരുന്നു അതുല്യയും ശാസ്താംകോട്ട സതീഷ് ശങ്കറുമായുള്ള വിവാഹം. പതിയെ മദ്യത്തിനു അടിമയായ ഭർത്താവ് ശാരീരികമായും മാനസികമായും അതുല്യയെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കാന് തുടങ്ങി. 2 വർഷം മുൻപാണ് അതുല്യ ദുബായിൽ എത്തിയത്. പിന്നീട് ഷാർജയിലേക്ക് താമസം മാറ്റുകയായിരുന്നു. മൂന്നു മാസം മുൻപ് നാട്ടിലെത്തിയ അതുല്യ 10 വയസ്സുള്ള മകൾ ആരാധ്യയുമായി മടങ്ങിപ്പോയെങ്കിലും മകൾക്ക് അവിടെ പഠിക്കാൻ താൽപര്യമില്ലാത്തതിനാൽ നാട്ടിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചയ്ക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
കഴിഞ്ഞ ജൂലൈ 19 നാണ് തേവലക്കര കോയിവിള അതുല്യ ഭവനിൽ അതുല്യയെ ഷാർജയിലെ ഫ്ലാറ്റിൽ മരിച്ച നിലയിൽ കണ്ടെത്തിയത്.

Athulya, a native of Koyivila, Sasthamcotta, who was found dead in her flat in Sharjah on July 19, had moved to the UAE two years ago due to severe physical and mental abuse from her husband, Satish Shankar, who became addicted to alcohol. Athulya married Satish Shankar in 2014. Three months before her death, Athulya had returned to the UAE with her 10-year-old daughter, Aaradhya, but sent the child back to Kerala after she expressed a preference to study there.
