പത്തനംതിട്ടയുടെ വനാതിര്‍ത്തിയില്‍ ആനകളെയും മറ്റ് ചില വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളേയും ആകര്‍ഷിക്കുന്നത് കൈതക്കൃഷിയെന്ന് വനംവകുപ്പുദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും നാട്ടുകാരും. കൈതക്കൃഷിക്കെതിരായ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് വനംവകുപ്പ് പരിശോധിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇതിന്‍റെ മറവില്‍ വേട്ട നടക്കുന്നുണ്ടോയെന്നും അന്വേഷണം ഉണ്ട്.
