ആറ് വർഷമായി മേൽക്കൂരയില്ലാത്ത വീടിന് കാവലിരിക്കുകയാണ് വയനാട് കൊളവള്ളിയിലെ സണ്ണപ്പൻ. ലൈഫ് പദ്ധതി വഴി ലഭിച്ച വീട് കരാറുകാരുടെ ലാഭക്കൊതിയിൽ പാതിവഴിയിൽ നിലച്ചതോടെ വീഴാറായ ചായ്‌പിൽ ജീവിതം തള്ളി നീക്കുകയാണ് നിസഹായനായ ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ.

സ്വന്തം സ്ഥലത്ത് ലൈഫ് പദ്ധതിയിൽ അനുവദിച്ച വീടിന്റെ അടിത്തറയ്ക്ക് കാവലിരിക്കുകയാണ് സണ്ണപ്പൻ. വയനാട് കൊള്ളവള്ളി അംബേദ്കർ ഉന്നതിയിലാണ് സണ്ണപ്പന്റെ വാസം. പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ലൈഫ് ഭവനപദ്ധതി പ്രകാരം തുക അനുവദിച്ചെന്ന വിവരം കുടുംബം അറിയുന്നതിന് മുൻപേയെത്തിയത് സ്വകാര്യ കരാറുകാരനാണ്. ആദിവാസി കുടുംബങ്ങളുടെ നിസ്സഹായാവസ്ഥ ചൂഷണം ചെയ്ത് പാസ്‌ബുക്കുകൾ കൈക്കലാക്കി. ഘട്ടംഘട്ടമായി അക്കൗണ്ടിലെത്തിയ പണം മുഴുവൻ കൈപ്പറ്റി. പക്ഷേ, നിർമാണം പാതിവഴിയിൽ നിലച്ചു.

ENGLISH SUMMARY:

For the past six years, Sannappan, a helpless resident of Kolavalli Ambedkar Unnathi in Wayanad, has been standing guard over the roofless structure of his unfinished home under the LIFE Mission project. Exploiting the vulnerability of tribal families, a private contractor seized his passbook before the family was even aware of the sanctioned funds and withdrew the money in stages without completing construction. Driven by profit margins, the contractor abandoned the work halfway, forcing Sannappan's family to live in a dilapidated, unsafe shed adjacent to the site. Despite monthly visits by officials who merely take photos and leave, numerous complaints filed by Sannappan have yielded no action, leaving his wait for a secure roof endless.
