കോഴിക്കോട് നഗരത്തിലെ പ്രധാനഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ കുടിവെള്ളം മുടങ്ങിയിട്ട്  ആറു ദിവസം .മാനാഞ്ചിറ വെള്ളിമാടുകുന്ന് റോഡിലെ നവീകരത്തിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി പൈപ്പുകള്‍ മാറ്റി സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്ന പണി നടക്കുന്നതിനാലാണ് കുടിവെള്ള വിതരണം തടസപ്പെട്ടത്. കോര്‍പ്പറേഷന്‍ വെള്ളം എത്തിക്കാനുള്ള പകരം സംവിധാനം ഒരുക്കാത്തത് പ്രതിസന്ധി രൂക്ഷമാക്കി. 

നാലുദിവസം കുടിവെള്ളം മുടങ്ങുമെന്നായിരുന്നു അറിയിപ്പ്. എന്നാല്‍ സിവില്‍സ്റ്റേഷന്‍ പരിസരം മുതല്‍ എരഞ്ഞിപ്പാലം ,നടക്കാവ് ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ വെള്ളം എത്തിയിട്ട് ആറു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞു. ജല അതോറിറ്റിയുടെ കുടിവെള്ളത്തെ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന ആയിരത്തിലേറെ കുടുംബങ്ങളാണ് വെള്ളമില്ലാതെ ദുരിതത്തിലായിരിക്കുന്നത് 

കോര്‍പ്പറേഷനില്‍ ഓടാന്‍ കഴിയുന്ന സ്ഥിതിയിലുള്ളത് ഒരു ടാങ്കര്‍ ലോറിയാണ്. എല്ലായിടത്തും വെള്ളം എത്തിക്കാന്‍ ഇത് മതിയാകില്ല. വാര്‍ഡ് കൗണ്‍സിലര്‍മാര്‍ സ്വന്തം ചെലവിലാണ് വെള്ളം എത്തിച്ചത് 

മലാപ്പറമ്പ് മുതല്‍ എരഞ്ഞിപ്പാലം വരെ പ്രധാനപൈപ്പുകള്‍ മാറ്റി സ്ഥാപിച്ചു വീടുകളിലേക്കുള്ള ചെറിയപൈപ്പുകളില്‍ കണക്ഷന്‍ നല്‍കുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികള്‍ ഇന്ന് പൂര്‍ത്തിയായല്‍ നാളെ മുതല്‍ ജലവിതരണം ആരംഭിക്കാനാകുമെന്നാണ് ജലഅതോറിറ്റി അധികൃതര്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നത്.

ENGLISH SUMMARY:

Drinking water supply has been disrupted for the past six days in major parts of Kozhikode city, including Eranhipalam, Nadakkavu, and Civil Station premises. The disruption, initially planned for four days, was caused by the relocation of pipelines as part of the Mananchira-Vellimadukunnu road development. Over a thousand families relying on Kerala Water Authority (KWA) services are in distress as the Corporation failed to provide adequate alternative arrangements, with only one functional tanker lorry available. While ward councillors are currently supplying water at their own expense, KWA officials stated that distribution is expected to resume tomorrow, following the completion of household connections today.
