കാസർകോട് ചീമേനിയിൽ ഒന്നര ഏക്കർ സർക്കാർ ഭൂമി കയ്യേറാൻ നീക്കമെന്ന് ആരോപണം. വ്യാജ പട്ടയം തയ്യാറാക്കിയെന്നാണ് ജനകീയ കർമ്മസമിതിയുടെ ആരോപണം. 

ചീമേനി ടൗണിനോട് ചേർന്ന് കാങ്കോൽ റോഡരികിലുള്ള സർക്കാർ ഭൂമി കയ്യേറാനുള്ള നീക്കത്തിനെതിരെയാണ് പ്രതിഷേധം ശക്തമായത്. ജനകീയ കർമ്മസമിതിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ നൂറുകണക്കിന് നാട്ടുകാർ വില്ലേജ് ഓഫീസിലേക്ക് മാർച്ച് നടത്തി. തിർത്തികൾ തിരുത്തി വ്യാജ പട്ടയം തയ്യാറാക്കിയെന്നാണ് സമരസമിതിയുടെ ആരോപണം. പട്ടയം റദ്ദാക്കി ഭൂമി സംരക്ഷിക്കണമെന്നാണ് ആവശ്യം.

ചീമേനി ശ്രീ വിഷ്ണുമൂർത്തി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ 11 ദിവസത്തെ കളിയാട്ട മഹോത്സവത്തിനെത്തുന്ന ഭക്തരുടെ വാഹനങ്ങൾ പാർക്ക് ചെയ്യാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലമാണിത്. പൊതുഭൂമി സംരക്ഷിക്കണമെന്നാണ് നാട്ടുകാരുടെ ആവശ്യം. ചീമേനി ടൗൺ ചുറ്റിയുള്ള മാർച്ച് വില്ലേജ് ഓഫീസിന് മുന്നിൽ സമാപിച്ചു. ഭൂമി സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നതുവരെ നിയമപോരാട്ടവും സമരവും തുടരുമെന്ന് ജനകീയ കർമ്മസമിതി ഭാരവാഹികൾ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

Local residents under the banner of a public action committee staged a protest march to the village office in Cheemeni, Kasaragod, alleging an attempt to encroach upon one and a half acres of government land. The protesters claimed that fake title deeds (pattayam) were fabricated by altering land boundaries to facilitate the illegal takeover of the property located near the Cheemeni town along the Kangol road. The land in question is traditionally utilized for parking vehicles of devotees attending the 11-day Kaliyattam festival at the local Cheemeni Sri Vishnumoorthy Temple. Demanding the immediate cancellation of the fake title deed and government protection of the public land, the committee warned of continued legal battles and agitation until the issue is resolved.
