ഇടുക്കി മാങ്ങാത്തൊട്ടിയിൽ കോഴിഫാമിൽ അജ്ഞാത ജീവിയുടെ ആക്രമണം. 600 ഓളം കോഴികൾ ചത്തു. വനവകുപ്പും മൃഗസംരക്ഷണ വകുപ്പും സ്ഥലത്ത് പരിശോധന നടത്തിയെങ്കിലും അജ്ഞാത ജീവിയെ കണ്ടെത്താനായില്ല 

 

 

മാങ്ങാത്തൊട്ടി ടൗണിന് സമീപമുള്ള രണ്ട് കോഴി ഫാമുകളിൽ രാത്രി ഒരുമണിയോടെയായിരുന്നു അജ്ഞാത ജീവിയുടെ ആക്രമണം. വർഷങ്ങളായി ഫാം നടത്തിവരുന്ന ഇടിക്കുഴിയിൽ വർഗീസിന്റെ 500 കോഴികളും പനച്ചിക്കൽ വിജയന്റെ 100 ലധികം കോഴികളും ചത്തു. മൂന്ന് ലക്ഷം രൂപയുടെ നഷ്ടമുണ്ടായെന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക വിലയിരുത്തൽ. കാട്ടുപൂച്ചയാണ് ആക്രമണം നടത്തിയതെന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക നിഗമനം

 

 

 

കർഷകർക്ക് നഷ്ടപരിഹാരം നൽകാനുള്ള നടപടിയെടുക്കുമെന്ന് വനംവകുപ്പ് അറിയിച്ചു. മാസങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പ് സമീപപ്രദേശമായ മമ്മട്ടിക്കാനത്ത് പൂച്ചപ്പുലിയുടെ ആക്രമണത്തിൽ രണ്ടായിരത്തോളം കോഴികൾ ചത്തിരുന്നു

An unknown predator attacked two poultry farms near Mangathotty town in Idukki, resulting in the death of around 600 chickens. The incident, which occurred around 1 AM, caused a loss of approximately ₹3 lakhs for farmers Varghese Edikkuzhi and Vijayan Panachikkal. While the Forest and Animal Husbandry departments inspected the site, they were unable to identify the creature, though initial suspicions point toward a wild cat. This follows a similar incident months ago in nearby Mammattikkanam, where a fishing cat killed nearly 2,000 chickens. The Forest Department has assured that steps will be taken to provide compensation to the affected farmers.
