അപകടത്തിന് ശേഷമുള്ള ദിവസങ്ങളിലും മാറ്റമില്ല. ഇന്നും ഇതേ വഴികളിലൂടെ തടസ്സങ്ങളില്ലാതെ ചീറിപ്പായുകയാണ് ബസുകൾ. അതേ വേഗപ്പാച്ചിൽ തുടരുന്നു. പിന്നിൽ നിന്ന് ഏത് നിമിഷവും പാഞ്ഞെത്താവുന്ന വാഹനങ്ങൾ. ഭയത്തോടെ തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കിനോക്കി വേണം കാൽനടയാത്രക്കാർക്ക് ഇവിടെ ഓരോ ചുവടും മുന്നോട്ടുവയ്ക്കാൻ. നിയമലംഘനങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെ മാത്രം ഒതുങ്ങുന്നില്ല. 

കാക്കനാട്ടെ കുന്നുംപുറം റോഡിൽ ബസുകൾക്ക് പ്രവേശനമില്ല. നിയന്ത്രണം മറികടന്ന് ഇതുവഴിയും ഇരമ്പിപ്പായുകയാണ് സ്വകാര്യ ബസുകൾ. അനധികൃത ഓട്ടം റസിഡന്റ്സ് അസോസിയേഷൻ ഭാരവാഹികൾ ക്യാമറയിൽ പകർത്തി MVD-ക്ക് കൈമാറിയിട്ടും നടപടിയുണ്ടായില്ല. ബസുകളുടെ മത്സരയോട്ടത്തിന് പിന്നിൽ സമയക്രമം പാലിക്കാനുള്ള സമ്മർദമുണ്ടെന്നാണ് ബസുടമകളുടെ വാദം. ഈ സമ്മർദം പലപ്പോഴും ഡ്രൈവർമാരിലേക്കും എത്തുന്നു.
