തിരുവനന്തപുരം നെടുമങ്ങാട് കരിക്കുഴിയില്‍ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട അര്‍ഷിദ് അന്ത്യവിശ്രമം അച്ഛനടുത്ത്. നന്ദിയോട് സ്വദേശിയായ അഖില്‍, ആട്ടുകാൽ സ്വദേശിനി അഖില ദമ്പതികളുടെ മകനാണ് മരിച്ച അര്‍ഷിദ്. അഖില മൂന്നുമാസം ഗർഭിണി ആയിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അഖിൽ ജീവനൊടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. 

ഇരുവരുടെയും പ്രണയ വിവാഹമായിരുന്നു. അഖിലിന്‍റെ മരണത്തിന് ശേഷം അഖില സ്വന്തം വീട്ടിലേക്ക് താമസം മാറിയിരുന്നു. കുഞ്ഞിന് ഒരു വയസ് കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോഴാണ് അഷ്‌കറിനൊപ്പം അഖില ജീവിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയത്. ഇന്നലെ നന്ദിയോടുള്ള അഖിലിന്‍റെ കുഴിമാടത്തിനോട് ചേർന്നാണ് കുഞ്ഞിനും കുഴിമാടം ഒരുക്കിയത്.

അഷ്കറിനൊപ്പം ജീവിതം തുടങ്ങിയ അഖില കുഞ്ഞിനെ അമ്മ തൊട്ടിലില്‍ ഏല്‍പ്പിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചിരുന്നു എന്ന് അഖിലിന്‍റെ കുടുംബത്തിന് വിവരം ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് കുഞ്ഞിനെ തിരികെ ലഭിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമം നടത്തിയെങ്കിലും ഫലമുണ്ടായില്ല. അഖിലിന്‍റെ മരണത്തിന് ശേഷം പ്രസവ സമയത്തോ നൂലുകെട്ട് സമയത്തോ അഖില കുടുംബത്തെ വിവരം അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. 

ക്രൂരമായ പീഡനമാണ് അര്‍ഷിദ് നേരിട്ടത്. തുടര്‍ച്ചയായ മര്‍ദ്ദനം കാരണമുളള ആന്തരിക രക്തസ്രാവമാണ് മരണകാരണമെന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക പോസ്റ്റ്‌മോ‌ർട്ടം റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. ഒന്നര വയസുകാരന്‍റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവന്‍ ഗുരുതര മുറിവുകളുണ്ട്. ശരീരത്തിലാകമാനം 51 മുറിവുകളാണുള്ളത്. ഒടിവും ചതവും കാലിൽ പൊള്ളിച്ച പാടുകളുമുണ്ട്. ജനനേന്ദ്രിയത്തിൽ തൊലി പോയ മുറിവുമുണ്ട്.

The mortal remains of one-and-a-half-year-old Arshid, who was brutally tortured to death in Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram, were laid to rest adjacent to his late father's grave in Nandiyode. Arshid was the son of Akhil, a native of Nandiyode, and Akhila, who had a love marriage but Akhil tragically ended his life when Akhila was just three months pregnant. Following his death, Akhila returned to her maternal home and later started living with her new partner, Ashkar, after the child turned one.
