മൂന്ന് ദിവസത്തെ യുദ്ധ സമാനമായ സാഹചര്യത്തിനൊടുവിൽ ഇന്ത്യയും പാക്കിസ്ഥാനും തമ്മിൽ വെടിനിർത്തൽ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്. യുഎസ് മധ്യസ്ഥതയാണ് ഇരു രാജ്യങ്ങളും തമ്മിലുള്ള വെടിനിർത്തലിലേക്ക് നയിച്ചതെന്നായിരുന്നു ഡോണൾഡ് ട്രംപിന്റെ അവകാശവാദം. 48 മണിക്കൂർ നേരം ഇരുരാജ്യങ്ങളുമായും ചർച്ച നടത്തിയെന്നും മധ്യസ്ഥ ചർച്ചകൾക്ക് യുഎസ് വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ജെ.ഡി വാൻസും സ്റ്റേറ്റ് സെക്രട്ടറി മാർക്കോ റൂബിയോയും നേതൃത്വം നൽകിയെന്നുമാണ് യുഎസിന്റെ അവകാശവാദം. ബുദ്ധിപരമായ നീക്കത്തിന് ഇന്ത്യയെയും പാക്കിസ്ഥാനെയും അഭിനന്ദിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും ട്രംപ് കുറിപ്പിൽ പറയുന്നു. യുഎസ് സ്റ്റേറ്റ് സെക്രട്ടറി മാർക്കോ റൂബിയോ വിദേശകാര്യമന്ത്രി എസ്. ജയശങ്കറുമായും പാക്ക് സൈനിക മേധാവി അസിം മുനീറുമായും ചർച്ച നടത്തിയിരുന്നുവെന്ന് ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചിരുന്നു.

ഇതിന് പിന്നാലെ മോദിയെ പുകഴ്ത്തി ധാരാളം ഫെയ്സ്ബുക്ക് കുറിപ്പുകളാണ് വരുന്നത്. ഇതിനെതിരെ രംഗത്ത് വന്നിരിക്കുകയാണ് രാഹുല്‍ മാങ്കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ അമേരിക്ക ഒക്കെ അതിർത്തിക്ക് അപ്പുറത്ത് മതി ഇതു ഇന്ത്യയാണ് എന്ന് പറയാൻ ഒരു ഇന്ദിര ഗാന്ധി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ എന്നാണ് കുറിപ്പിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. തള്ളുന്നത് പോലെ എളുപ്പമല്ല ചെയ്യാൻ എന്ന് ബിജെപിക്കാർ മനസിലാക്കിയാൽ മതിയെന്നും രാഹുല്‍ പറയുന്നു.
