ക്രിക്കറ്റ് താരം എസ്. ശ്രീശാന്തിന്റെ പിതാവും റിട്ട. എൽഐസി സോണൽ മാനേജരുമായ കോതമംഗലം മാതിരപ്പിള്ളി വി.ശാന്തകുമാരൻ നായർ അന്തരിച്ചു. 89 വയസായിരുന്നു. കൊച്ചിയിലെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സയിലിരിക്കെ ഇന്നലെ രാത്രി 9.45ഓടെയാണ് മരണം. മൃതദേഹം ഞായറാഴ്ച സ്വദേശമായ കോതമംഗലത്തേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോകും. രാവിലെ 10 മുതൽ 2 മണിവരെ കോതമംഗലത്തെ വീട്ടിൽ പൊതുദർശനത്തിന് വയ്ക്കും.
സംസ്കാരം നാളെ വൈകിട്ട് നാലിന് നടക്കും. ടി.എൻ.സാവിത്രി ദേവിയാണ് ഭാര്യ. ദീപുശാന്ത്, നിവേദിത, ദിവ്യ, ക്രിക്കറ്റ് താരം ശ്രീശാന്ത് എന്നിവര് മക്കളാണ്. കല്പ്പന, ക്യാപ്ടന് സജിത്ത്, മധു ബാലകൃഷ്ണന്, ഭുവനേശ്വരി എന്നിവര് മരുമക്കളാണ്.
Cricketer Sreesanth's Father V. Santhakumaran Nair Passes Away; Funeral Tomorrow in Kothamangalam:
V. Santhakumaran Nair (89), retired LIC Zonal Manager and father of former Indian cricketer S. Sreesanth, passed away at around 9:45 PM while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi. Hailing from Mathirappilly in Kothamangalam, his body will be transported to his hometown on Sunday for public homage. The final rites and funeral ceremony are scheduled to take place at 4:00 PM tomorrow in Kothamangalam. He is survived by his wife T.N. Savithri Devi and four children, including Sreesanth, along with four children-in-law, among whom is famous singer Madhu Balakrishnan
