കാപ്പാ കേസ് പ്രതിയായ തിരുവനന്തപുരം കോർപ്പറേഷന് ബിജെപി കൗൺസിലർ സുഗതനെ പൊലീസ് സാഹസികമായി പിടികൂടി. വട്ടിയൂര്ക്കാവ് വാഴോട്ടുകോണം വാര്ഡ് കൗണ്സിലറായ സുഗതനെ വധശ്രമക്കേസില് പൊലീസ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുക്കാനെത്തിയപ്പോഴായിരുന്നു നാടകീയ സംഭവങ്ങള്. വള്ളക്കടവ് ക്ഷേത്രോല്സവത്തിനിടെ സിപിഎം പ്രവര്ത്തകനെ സുഗതന് മര്ദിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഈ കേസില് സുഗതന് ഹൈക്കോടതി ജാമ്യം നിഷേധിച്ചിരുന്നു. തുടര്ന്നാണ് അറസ്റ്റിന് നീക്കം നടന്നത്.
