തിരുവനന്തപുരം നാവായിക്കുളത്ത് വിനോദയാത്രാസംഘം സഞ്ചരിച്ച ബസ് മറിഞ്ഞ് നാലു വിദ്യാര്ഥികള്ക്ക് പരുക്ക്. ഇതില് രണ്ടുപേരുടെ പരുക്ക് സാരമുള്ളതാണ്. നിസാര പരുക്കുകളേറ്റ 15 പേരെ കൊല്ലത്തെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയില് പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. കൊടകര എംബിഎ കോളജിലെ വിദ്യാര്ഥികള് സഞ്ചരിച്ച ടൂറിസ്റ്റ് ബസാണ് നിയന്ത്രണം വിട്ട് മറിഞ്ഞത്. ഡ്രൈവര് ഉറങ്ങിപ്പോയതാണ് അപകടത്തിന് കാരണമെന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക നിഗമനം.
വിഴിഞ്ഞം തുറമുഖത്തിലേക്ക് പഠനയാത്ര പോയതായിരുന്നു സംഘം. ബസില് 42 വിദ്യാര്ഥികളാണ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. ഡ്രൈവര് ഉറങ്ങിപ്പോയതോടെ ബസ് റോഡിനോട് ചേര്ന്നുള്ള വീടിന് സമീപത്തേക്ക് മറിയുകയായിരുന്നു. ശബ്ദം കേട്ട് ഓടിക്കൂടിയ നാട്ടുകാര് വിദ്യാര്ഥികളെ എല്ലാവരെയും പുറത്തെടുത്തു. ബസ് ഉയര്ത്താനുള്ള ശ്രമം തുടരുകയാണ്.
