Four youths from Valayam have been arrested in Mahe for using counterfeit fancy currency notes to purchase diesel at a local fuel station. The suspects handed over a fake 500-rupee note, which led the station staff to alert authorities and track them down via CCTV footage. Subsequent police investigations revealed that the same group had circulated similar fraudulent notes across four other shops in the area. Law enforcement officials have taken all four accused into custody as further inquiries into the counterfeit network continue.
