പോലീസിനെ ബോംബറിഞ്ഞ കേസിൽ 20 വർഷം തടവുശിക്ഷ ലഭിച്ച ഡിവൈഎഫ്ഐ നേതാവ് വി.കെ. നിഷാദിന് ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട് ഒരു മാസത്തിനുള്ളിൽ ആറു ദിവസത്തേക്ക് പരോൾ . പിതാവിന്റെ അനാരോഗ്യം ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടിയുള്ള അപേക്ഷയിലാണ് ജയിൽ വകുപ്പ് അടിയന്തര പരോൾ അനുവദിച്ചത്. നിയമപരമായി അർഹതപ്പെട്ട പരോൾ ആണെന്നാണ് ജയിൽ അധികൃതരുടെ വിശദീകരണം. 

പയ്യന്നൂർ നഗരസഭയിൽ 46 ആം വാർഡിൽ നിന്ന് എൽഡിഎഫ് കൗൺസിലറായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ആളാണ് നിഷാദ്. ജയിലിൽ ആയതിനാൽ സത്യപ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്യാൻ നിഷാദിന് കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല. 

അതേസമയം, വി.കെ നിഷാദിന്‍റെ പരോളിനെതിരെ കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് രംഗത്തെത്തി. ചട്ടങ്ങള്‍ കാറ്റില്‍പ്പറത്തിയാണ് പരോളെന്നും നിയമവ്യവസ്ഥയോടുള്ള വെല്ലുവിളിയെന്നും ഡിസിസി പ്രസിഡന്റ് മാര്‍ട്ടിന്‍ ജോര്‍ജ് വിമര്‍ശിച്ചു.

Prison authorities said the parole was granted as per legal provisions. Nishad was elected as an LDF councillor from Payyannur Municipality but could not take oath. The Congress party has strongly opposed the parole decision. DCC president Martin George termed it a violation of rules and a challenge to the legal system.
