കൊടുംകുറ്റവാളി ഗോവിന്ദച്ചാമിയുടെ ജയിൽ ചാട്ടത്തിന് പിന്നാലെ ജയിൽ വകുപ്പിൽ അഴിച്ചു പണി. കണ്ണൂർ സെൻട്രൽ ജയിലിലേത് ഉൾപ്പെടെ പത്ത് ജയിലുകളിലെ ജോയിന്റ് സൂപ്രണ്ടുമാരെ സ്ഥലം മാറ്റി. കണ്ണൂർ സെൻട്രൽ ജയിൽ ജോയിൻ സൂപ്രണ്ടിനെ കാസർഗോഡ് ജില്ലാ ജയിലിലേക്കാണ് മാറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.
ഗോവിന്ദച്ചാമിയുടെ ജയിൽ ചാട്ടത്തിൽ കണ്ണൂർ സെൻട്രൽ ജയിൽ ജോയിൻ സൂപ്രണ്ടിന് വീഴ്ചയുണ്ടായെന്ന് ഉത്തരമേഖല ജയിൽ ഡിഐജി റിപ്പോർട്ട് നൽകിയിരുന്നു. നടപടിയുടെ ഭാഗമാണ് സ്ഥലംമാറ്റം എന്ന് വിലയിരുത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. കണ്ണൂരിന് പുറമേ തിരുവനന്തപുരം, വിയ്യൂർ, തവനൂർ എന്നീ സെൻട്രൽ ജയിലുകളിലെ ജോയിൻ സൂപ്രണ്ട് മാരെയും മാറ്റിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഏറെ മാസങ്ങളായി ഒഴിഞ്ഞു കിടന്നിരുന്ന തിരുവനന്തപുരം കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലാ ജയിലുകളിൽ സൂപ്രണ്ടുമാരെയും നിയമിച്ചു.

Following the jailbreak attempt by notorious convict Govindachamy, the Kerala Prison Department has undergone a major reshuffle. Joint superintendents from ten jails, including Kannur Central Prison, have been transferred. The officer in charge of Kannur jail, where the escape took place, has been moved to Kasaragod District Jail after a departmental report cited serious lapses. Transfers also include officials from Thiruvananthapuram, Viyyur, and Tavanur central prisons. Additionally, superintendents were appointed to long-vacant posts in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode district jails.
