പാലക്കാട് കഞ്ചിക്കോട് ജനവാസമേഖലയില്‍ ഇറങ്ങിയ ആന കാടുകയറി. അഞ്ച് മണിക്കൂറുകള്‍ നീണ്ട വനപാലകരുടെ ദൗത്യത്തിന് ഒടുവിലാണ് കാട് കയറിയത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ഒരു മാസമായി ജനവാസമേഖലയില്‍ ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ ഇറങ്ങി വലിയ നാശനഷ്ടം ഉണ്ടാക്കികൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു ആന. രാവിലെയോടു കൂടിയാണ് ദൗത്യം തുടങ്ങിയത്.  കുങ്കിയാനയെ വച്ചുള്ള ദൗത്യമായിരുന്നു ആദ്യം. പക്ഷെ അത് വിഫലായി. അതിനുശേഷം പടക്കമെറിഞ്ഞ് ഓടിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചു. പക്ഷെ എല്ലാ ശ്രമങ്ങളും വിഫലമായിരുന്നു.എന്നാലും പൂര്‍ണമായും വിജയം കണ്ടു എന്ന് പറയാനായിട്ടില്ല.  

ENGLISH SUMMARY:

An elephant that entered the residential area of Kanjikode in Palakkad finally returned to the forest after a five-hour-long operation by forest officials. The elephant had been causing damage in the area for over a month. Initial efforts using a kumki elephant failed, followed by attempts to scare it with firecrackers, but all methods were ineffective. While the elephant has moved back to the forest, officials say it’s not a complete success yet.
