കാസർകോട് മടിയനിൽ രണ്ടു കുട്ടികൾ മുങ്ങിമരിച്ചു. പള്ളി കുളത്തിൽ കുളിക്കുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് അപകടം. മൂന്ന് കുട്ടികളാണ് കുളത്തിൽ കുളിക്കാൻ ഇറങ്ങിയത്. മൂന്നും പേരും മുങ്ങിപോകുകയായിരുന്നു. ഉടൻ നാട്ടുകാർ കുട്ടികളെ പുറത്ത് എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും രണ്ടുപേർ മരിച്ചു. 9 വയസ്സുകാരൻ അഫാസ്, അൻവർ എന്നീ കുട്ടികളാണ് മരിച്ചത്. ഗുരുതരാവസ്ഥയിലുള്ള കുട്ടിയെ മംഗലാപുരത്തേക്ക് മാറ്റി.
