Hurricane Isaias Hits Florida Panhandle: Category 2 Storm Brings Power Outages, Flood Threats:

Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin, Florida, as a Category 2 storm with sustained winds reaching 110 mph. States of emergency have been declared across Florida, Alabama, and Georgia, leaving more than 500,000 customers without electricity. Meteorologists warned of life-threatening storm surges of up to 9 feet, prompting mandatory evacuations along vulnerable coastal communities. Rare Level 4 extreme flood threats and potential tornadoes are forecast as the storm moves inland toward the Tennessee Valley.
