Mallika Sarabhai, Chancellor of Kalamandalam Kalpita University, faced a restriction on her opinion for supporting the Asha Strike. Expressing her dissatisfaction on Facebook, she highlighted that her freedom of speech was being denied. Sarabhai questioned, "Isn't expressing my opinion my habit?" Despite the restriction, she participated in an event expressing solidarity with the strike. She raised the question of whether people are not allowed to express their views on a movement the government dislikes.
