ഖനിയില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള സ്വര്‍ണം നേരിട്ടുവാങ്ങി പണം കൊയ്യാമെന്ന് വിശ്വസിപ്പിച്ച് അഞ്ചു ലക്ഷം രൂപ തട്ടിയ കെ.ജി.എഫ്. സ്വാമി അറസ്റ്റില്‍. പത്തനംതിട്ട സ്വദേശിയായ ഷാജിയാണ് കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂരില്‍ പിടിയിലായത്. വ്യാജ സ്വര്‍ണം കാട്ടി സ്ഥിരം തട്ടിപ്പു നടത്തുന്നയാളാണ് ഷാജി.

സ്വര്‍ണഖനിയുടെ കഥ പറയുന്ന ഹിറ്റ് സിനിമ കെ.ജി.എഫുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെടുത്തിയാണ് ഷാജിയ്ക്കു കെ.ജി.എഫ്. സ്വാമി എന്ന പേരുവീണത്. കുളം വൃത്തിയാക്കിയപ്പോള്‍ കിട്ടിയ സ്വര്‍ണ വിഗ്രഹം വില്‍ക്കാനുണ്ട്, ഖനിയില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള സ്വര്‍ണം പകുതി വിലയ്ക്കു വില്‍ക്കാനുണ്ട്... എന്നെല്ലാം പറഞ്ഞ് ആളുകളെ സമീപിക്കും. വിശ്വാസ്യതയ്ക്കു വേണ്ടി സ്വാമിയുടെ വേഷവുമണിയും. കഴുത്തില്‍ രുദ്രാക്ഷമാല ധരിച്ചാണ് ഈ പ്രച്ഛന്നവേഷം. 

ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂര്‍ സ്വദേശിയായ പ്രവാസി മലയാളി ഷാജിയുടെ വാഗ്ദാനത്തില്‍ വീഴുകയായിരുന്നു. അഞ്ചു ലക്ഷം രൂപയാണ് സ്വാമി തട്ടിയത്. നേരെ, തൃശൂര്‍ റൂറല്‍ എസ്.പി: ബി.കൃഷ്ണകുമാറിന് പരാതി നല്‍കി. കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂര്‍ ഡിവൈ.എസ്.പി: പ്രമോദിന്‍റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ നടത്തിയ അന്വേഷണം ഫലംകണ്ടു. പൊലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ വ്യാജ സ്വര്‍ണത്തിന്‍റെ ആവശ്യക്കാരെന്ന വ്യാജേന ഷാജിയെ സമീപിച്ച് ഡീല്‍ ഉറപ്പിച്ചു. സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് പൊലീസിനോടാണെന്ന് ഷാജി അറിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല. അങ്ങനെ, പിടി വീണു.

The Kodungallur police have arrested a notorious conman popularly known as 'KGF Swami' for orchestrating a series of high-value fake gold scams targeting affluent individuals. The accused, identified as sixty-one-year-old Shaji from Madhavamangalam in Pathanamthitta, was apprehended following a targeted sting operation by the Thrissur Rural police. He earned his unique cinematic moniker by enticing unsuspecting victims, including prominent non-resident Keralites, with fictional tales of smuggling pure gold blocks directly from the Kolar Gold Fields at half the market rate. Dressed as a holy man adorned with rudraksha beads to project an aura of trustworthiness, Shaji successfully swindled ₹5 lakh from a local NRI under the pretext of a lucrative bullion deal. Following a formal complaint lodged with Thrissur Rural SP B. Krishnakumar, a special team led by Kodungallur DySP Pramod trapped the fraudster by posing as potential buyers eager to purchase his gold-painted iron bars. Investigators revealed that the smooth-talking imposter is a habitual offender who was previously jailed for a similar multi-lakh heist involving a fake golden idol in Pavaratty.
