തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ ബി.ജെ.പി കൗണ്സിലര് ആര്.സുഗതനെ പിടികുടുന്നതിനിടെ ആകാശത്തേക്ക് വെടിവച്ചതില് വീഴ്ചയില്ലെന്ന് പൊലീസ് റിപ്പോര്ട്ട്. വെടിവച്ച പൊലീസ് നടപടി അനാവശ്യമെന്ന് മന്ത്രിയും സ്ഥലം എം.എല്.എയുമായ കെ.മുരളീധരന് നിലപാടെടുത്തു. സുഗതന്റെ രാജി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് എല്.ഡി.എഫ് സമരം തുടങ്ങി. അതിനിടെ സുഗതനെ വിയ്യൂരിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി.
ബി.ജെ.പി കൗണ്സിലറെ കാപ്പാ കേസില് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തതിനൊപ്പം സുഗതന്റെ അറസ്റ്റ് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടത് പൊലീസ് ആകാശത്തേക്ക് വെടിവച്ചതോടെയാണ്. പൊലീസ് നടപടിയെ പൂര്ണമായി പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുകയും അഭിനന്ദിക്കുകയുമാണ് ആഭ്യന്തരമന്ത്രി ചെയ്തത്. എന്നാല് വട്ടിയൂര്ക്കാവ് എം.എല്.എയായ കെ.മുരളീധരന് പൊലീസിനെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുന്നില്ല. അതൊരു അനാവശ്യ വെടിയൊച്ചയെന്നാണ് അദേഹത്തിന്റെ നിലപാട്.
എന്നാല് ആ വെടിയൊച്ച ഒഴിവാക്കാനാവുന്നതായിരുന്നില്ലെന്നും അതില് തെറ്റില്ലെന്നുമാണ് പൊലീസ് റിപ്പോര്ട്ട്. വധശ്രമക്കേസില് ഹൈക്കോടതി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടും കീഴടങ്ങാതിരിക്കുകയും കാപ്പാ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുകയും ചെയ്തതോടെയാണ് അറസ്റ്റിന് നിര്ബന്ധിതരായത്. പക്ഷെ സുഗതന് അനുനായികളെയും സ്ത്രീകളടക്കമുള്ള ബന്ധുക്കളെയും കൂട്ടി ആക്രമിക്കാന് ശ്രമിച്ചതോടെയാണ് ആള്ക്കൂട്ടത്തെ പിരിച്ചുവിടാന് ആകാശത്തേക്ക് വെടിവച്ചതെന്നാണ് കന്റോണ്മെന്റ് എ.സി.പി കമ്മീഷണര്ക്ക് കൊടുത്ത റിപ്പോര്ട്ടില് പറയുന്നത്.
അതിനിടെ സുഗതനെ പൂജപ്പുര സെന്ട്രല് ജയിലില് നിന്ന് കാപ്പാ തടവുകാരെ സൂക്ഷിക്കേണ്ട വിയ്യൂര് ജയിലിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. അതിനിടെ സുഗതന് കൗണ്സിലര് സ്ഥാനം രാജിവെക്കണമെന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് എല്.ഡി.എഫ് തിരുവനന്തപുരം കോര്പ്പറേഷനില് സമരം തുടങ്ങി.
