തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ് പിണറായി വിജയന്റെ വസതിയിൽ പരിശോധനയ്ക്കെത്തിയ എൻഫോഴ്സ്മെന്റ് ഡയറക്ടറേറ്റ് (ഇ.ഡി.) ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ ആക്രമിച്ച കേസിൽ ഏഴ് പ്രതികൾക്ക് ഹൈക്കോടതി ജാമ്യം അനുവദിച്ചു.
പ്രതികൾ കഴിഞ്ഞ 67 ദിവസമായി ജയിലിലാണെന്നും, കേസിലെ അന്വേഷണം ഏകദേശം പൂർത്തിയായ സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ തുടർ കസ്റ്റഡി ആവശ്യമില്ലെന്നും കോടതി നിരീക്ഷിച്ചു. വധശ്രമക്കുറ്റം പ്രഥമദൃഷ്ട്യാ നിലനിൽക്കുന്നതായി കാണാനാകില്ലെന്നും, ഇ.ഡി. ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർക്കേറ്റ പരുക്കുകൾ ഗുരുതര സ്വഭാവത്തിലുള്ളതല്ലെന്നും കോടതി വ്യക്തമാക്കി.
പ്രതികളായ ശ്രീജിത്, ജീവൻ, അനിൽകുമാർ, പി.എസ്. കിരൺ, ഷഫീക്ക്, എസ്. സിദ്ധാർഥ്, നിഷാദ് എന്നിവർക്കാണ് ജാമ്യം ലഭിച്ചത്. ഇതിന് മുമ്പ് തിരുവനന്തപുരം മജിസ്ട്രേറ്റ് കോടതിയും സെഷൻസ് കോടതിയും ഇവരുടെ ജാമ്യാപേക്ഷകൾ തള്ളിയിരുന്നു.

The Kerala High Court has granted bail to nine accused in the case related to the alleged assault on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials during a raid at the residence of Leader of the Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram. The court observed that the charge of attempt to murder does not appear to be sustainable at the prima facie stage and noted that the injuries suffered by the ED officials were not serious. The accused granted bail include Sreejith, Jeevan, Anilkumar, P.S. Kiran, Shafeeq, S. Siddharth, Nishad, and two others. Earlier, both the Thiruvananthapuram Magistrate Court and the Sessions Court had rejected their bail applications.
