പത്തനംതിട്ട മല്ലപ്പള്ളിയിൽ ഭാര്യയെ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തി ഭർത്താവ് ജീവനൊടുക്കി. ഹൈസ്കൂൾ ജംക്‌ഷന് സമീപം താമസിക്കുന്ന രഘുനാഥും ഭാര്യ സുധയുമാണ് മരിച്ചത്. കുടുംബ കലഹമാണ് കൊലപാതകത്തിൽ കലാശിച്ചതെന്നാണ് സൂചന.

തിരുവോണദിനം നാടിനെ ഞെട്ടിച്ച കൊലപാതകം പുറത്തറിയുന്നത് രാവിലെ 10 മണിയോടെയാണ്. ഏക മകൻ പഠനവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് എറണാകുളത്തായിരുന്നു. ഇന്നലെ രാത്രി മുതൽ മകൻ ഇരുവരെയും ഫോണിൽ ബന്ധപ്പെടാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചെങ്കിലും ലഭിക്കാത്ത വന്നതോടെ അയൽക്കാരെ വിവരമറിയിച്ചു. സമീപത്തുള്ളവർ രാവിലെ വീട്ടിലെത്തി പരിശോധിച്ചപ്പോഴാണ് ഇരുവരുടെയും മൃതദേഹം കണ്ടെത്തിയത്.

സുധയുടെ മൃതദേഹം വീടിന് പിൻവശത്ത് കഴുത്ത് മുറിഞ്ഞ് രക്തം വാർന്ന നിലയിലും രഘുനാഥ് കിടപ്പുമുറിയിൽ തൂങ്ങിമരിച്ച നിലയിലുമായിരുന്നു. കീഴ്‌വായ്പൂർ പൊലീസെത്തി മേൽനടപടികൾ സ്വീകരിച്ചു.
