മാഹിയിൽ നിന്ന് കൂടിയ അളവിൽ മദ്യം എത്തിച്ചു വയനാട് മാനന്തവാടിയിൽ ചില്ലറ വില്പന നടത്തി വന്ന രണ്ടംഗസംഘം പിടിയിൽ. കോഴിക്കോട് സ്വദേശി ജ്യോതിഷ് ബാബു, പുൽപള്ളി പാക്കം സ്വദേശി അജിത്ത് എന്നിവരാണ് പിടിയിലായത്. ഒന്നാം പ്രതി ജ്യോതിഷിന്റെ വാടക വീട്ടിലെ അടുക്കളയിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ച നിലയിലായിരുന്ന 252 ലിറ്റർ മാഹി മദ്യം പിടികൂടി. 

രഹസ്യ വിവരത്തെ തുടർന്ന് എക്സൈസ് സംഘം നടത്തിയ പരിശോധനയിലാണ് വൻ മദ്യ ശേഖരം പിടികൂടിയത്. മാനന്തവാടി, കല്ലോടി, പേരിയ, വാളാട്, തിരുനെല്ലി, കാട്ടിക്കുളം എന്നീ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ഇവർ വ്യാപകമായി മാഹി മദ്യം വില്പന നടത്തിയതായി എക്സൈസ് സംഘം അറിയിച്ചു. മാഹിയിൽ നിന്ന് ഇത്രയധികം മദ്യം എങ്ങനെ വയനാട്ടിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കാനായി എന്നത് എക്സൈസ് അന്വേഷിച്ചു വരികയാണ്. ഇന്നലെ രാത്രിയോടെയാണ് പ്രതികളെ സഹസികമായി പിടികൂടിയത്.

ENGLISH SUMMARY:

Two men were arrested for smuggling large quantities of liquor from Mahe to Wayanad and selling it in retail. Jyothish Babu from Kozhikode and Ajith from Pulppally were caught with 252 litres of liquor stored in the kitchen of a rented house. The excise department conducted the raid based on a tip-off. The liquor was being distributed across several areas including Mananthavady, Kallody, Periya, and Thirunelli. The mode of transport from Mahe to Wayanad is under investigation.
