Vineesh, the accused in the 2021 Perinthalmanna Drishya murder case, remains at large 16 days after escaping from the Kuthiravattom Mental Health Centre by making a hole in the wall. A self-confessed psycho-criminal, Vineesh had brutally murdered Drishya in her home after traveling 13 kilometers. This is not his first escape; he had previously fled custody twice but was recaptured. In past instances, police tracked him down using local intelligence and his attempt to find shelter in familiar hideouts. The current escape has raised serious concerns about the security measures at the mental health facility and the safety of the victim's family.
