89വയസുള്ള തങ്കപ്പനും ഭാര്യ പൊന്നമ്മയും മാത്രമാണ് വീട്ടിലുള്ളത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ29ന് വീടിന്റെ പിന്ഭാഗത്തെ മണ്ണിടിഞ്ഞ് അടുക്കള ഭാഗത്തേക്ക് വീഴുകയായിരുന്നു. മുകളിലേക്കുള്ള ഇരുമ്പുപടികളും ജനലുകളുടെ ഷേഡും തകര്ന്നു. കലക്ടറുടെ നിര്ദേശപ്രകാരം അപകടമുള്ള ഭാഗത്തെ മണ്ണ് ഇടിച്ചിട്ടു. ഇപ്പോള് മണ്ണ് കുന്നുകൂടിക്കിടക്കുകയാണ്. മണ്ണ് മാറ്റിയിടാല് സ്ഥലമില്ല. ഇവിടെനിന്ന് മറ്റൊരിടത്തേക്ക് മാറ്റാന് അനുമതിയും കിട്ടുന്നില്ല.
അപകട സാഹചര്യമെന്ന് മുന്നറിയിപ്പുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ഈ വീട്ടില് തുടരുകയാണ് ദമ്പതികള്. മൂത്തമകളുടേതാണ് നിലവിലെ വീട്. തൊട്ടടുത്ത് ഇളയമകളുടെ വീട് പണി നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. അവിടേക്കും മണ്ണ് ഇടിഞ്ഞ് വീണ് കിടക്കുകയാണ്.
