‌കാസർകോട് യുഡിഎഫ് പ്രവർത്തകന്റെ കാർ ഇടിച്ചു നശിപ്പിച്ച് എൽഡിഎഫ് സ്ഥാനാർഥി. ഷിറിയ സ്വദേശി മുഹമ്മദ് ഇഖ്ബാലും സുഹൃത്തുമാണ് ആക്രമണം നടത്തിയത്. തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് പരാജയത്തെ തുടർന്ന് യുഡിഎഫ് പ്രവർത്തകരായ മുഹമ്മദ് അഷ്റഫ്, അബൂബക്കർ സിദ്ദിഖ് എന്നിവരുമായി മുഹമ്മദ് ഇഖ്ബാൽ തർക്കത്തിൽ ഏർപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ഈ വൈരാഗ്യത്തിലാണ് ആക്രമണം നടത്തിയത് എന്നാണ് ആരോപണം. മദ്യലഹരിയിൽ കാർ ഇടിച്ചു നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും,  വടികൊണ്ട് ആക്രമിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. സംഭവത്തിന്റെ സിസിടിവി ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ പുറത്തുവന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആക്രമണം നടത്തിയ മുഹമ്മദ് ഇക്ബാലിനും സുഹൃത്ത് അമിത് ചോട്ടുവിനും എതിരെ കുമ്പള പൊലീസ് കേസെടുത്തു.

CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, and the police have initiated a probe into the political rivalry.
