കോട്ടയം വൈക്കം വെച്ചൂരിൽ പാടത്ത് താറാവുകൾ ചത്തനിലയിൽ. കല്ലറ റോഡിനോട് ചേർന്നുള്ള പാടശേഖരങ്ങളിലാണ് താറാവുകൾ ചത്ത് കിടന്നത്.  പക്ഷിപ്പനിയാണൊ വിഷബാധയാണൊയെന്ന ആശങ്കയിലാണ് നാട്ടുകാർ.

ഇടയാഴം കല്ലറ റോഡിലും പ്രദേശത്തും ദുർഗന്ധമായിട്ടും ആരും പരിശോധന നടത്തിയിട്ടില്ല. മോട്ടോർ പുരയുടെ സമീപത്തും വ്യാപകമായി താറാവുകൾ ചത്ത് കിടന്നിരുന്നു. മുൻ വർഷങ്ങളിൽ നവംബർ ഡിസംബർ മാസങ്ങളിലാണ് പ്രദേശത്ത് പക്ഷിപ്പനി വ്യാപകമായി ഉണ്ടായത്. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ നാട്ടുകാർ ആശങ്കയിലാണ്. ആരുടെയാണ് താറാവുകൾ എന്ന് വ്യക്തമല്ല. രോഗബാധയിൽ ഇവ ചത്തുതുടങ്ങിയതോടെ ആരെങ്കിലും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് പോയാതാണോ എന്നാണ് നാട്ടുകാർ സംശയിക്കുന്നത്. പക്ഷിപ്പനി പോലെയുള്ള രോഗ ബാധയാണൊ എന്ന് പരിശോധിച്ച് താറാവുകളെ നീക്കം ചെയ്യണമെന്നാണ് നാട്ടുകാരുടെ ആവശ്യം.
