A family in Puzhakkal, Thrissur, is welcoming Navratri in a unique way by constructing a miniature replica of the iconic Vadakkunnathan Temple in their front yard. Homeowners Suryanarayanan, a businessman based in Qatar who returns home every year for the festival, and his wife Lakshmi brought 'Lakshmi Griha' (Villa No. 22, Shobha City) to life with this creative project. Crafted using thermocol and fiber over 20 days by Devi Decorations, the installation perfectly replicates the Vadakkunnathan southern gateway, complemented naturally by a banyan tree in the yard, while the yard's stone lamps and elephant statues are also custom-made from fiber. Beyond the temple gateway replica, visitors are welcomed by an extensive collection of Bommakolu (Golu) dolls displayed inside.
