തിരുവനന്തപുരം നഗരത്തിലെ മാലിന്യനീക്കത്തിലെ പ്രതിസന്ധിയെ ചൊല്ലി സിപിഎം ബിജെപി പോര് കടുക്കുന്നു. നഗരത്തെ തകര്ക്കാന് ശ്രമിക്കുന്നത് സിപിഎമ്മാണെന്നാണ് മേയറുടെ ആക്ഷേപം. അധികാരം നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടതിന്റെ വ്യാകുലതയിൽ നഗരത്തെ മാലിന്യത്തിൽ മുക്കുന്നതിന് പിന്നിൽ മുൻ മന്ത്രിക്ക് പങ്കുണ്ടെന്നും മേയർ ആരോപിച്ചു. ആമയിഴഞ്ചാന് തോട്ടില് മാലിന്യം തള്ളിയതിന് പിടിയിലായത് സിപിഎം പ്രവര്ത്തകനാണെന്നും ഒളിവില് പോയ പ്രതി ഷമീറിനെ പൊലീസ് ഇന്നലെ കസ്റ്റഡിയില് എടുത്തുവെന്നും വി.വി.രാജേഷ് പറഞ്ഞു.
എന്നാല് നഴ്സറി കുട്ടികള് പോലും പറയാത്ത ആരോപണമാണിതെന്നായിരുന്നു മുന്മന്ത്രി കൂടിയായ ശിവന്കുട്ടിയുടെ പരിഹാസം. കാപ്പ കേസ് പ്രതിയെ രക്ഷപെടുത്താന് നടക്കുന്ന നേരത്ത് നഗരത്തിലെ മാലിന്യപ്രശ്നത്തിനും വെള്ളക്കെട്ടിനും പരിഹാരം കാണണമെന്നും ശിവന്കുട്ടി മേയറെ ഓര്മിപ്പിച്ചു.
നഗരത്തില് മാലിന്യപ്രതിസന്ധി കുറച്ചായി രൂക്ഷമാണെന്ന സമ്മതമാണ് നിലവിലെ പ്രസ്താവനയിലൂടെ മേയര് നടത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. വീടുകളില് നിന്ന് ശേഖരിക്കുന്ന മാലിന്യം നിലവില് റോഡരികില് ദിവസങ്ങളോളം കൂടിക്കിടക്കുന്ന സ്ഥിതിയാണുള്ളത്. മഴക്കാലമായിട്ടും തോടുകള് വൃത്തിയാക്കാനും കോര്പറേഷന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. ഗംഗ ശുദ്ധീകരണ മിഷന് മാതൃകയില് കരമനയാര്, കിള്ളിയാര്, ആമയിഴഞ്ചാന് തോട് തുടങ്ങിയ ജലാശയങ്ങള് ശുചിയാക്കുമെന്നായിരുന്നു ബിജെപിയുടെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് വാഗ്ദാനം.
