എന്‍എസ്എസ് ജനറല്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി സുകുമാരന്‍ നായര്‍ നിഷ്കളങ്കനും മാന്യനുമെന്ന് എസ്എന്‍ഡിപി യോഗം ജനറല്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി വെള്ളാപ്പള്ളി നടേശന്‍. ഐക്യം പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ സുകുമാരന്‍ നായര്‍ അനുകൂലിച്ചു.തുഷാറിനെ മകനെപ്പോലെ സ്വീകരിക്കുമെന്നും പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാല്‍ എന്‍എസ്എസിന്‍റെ ബോര്‍ഡ് തീരുമാനം മറിച്ചായി. അതില്‍ തനിക്ക് വിഷമമോ പ്രതിഷേധമോ ഇല്ലെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. നായര്‍ സമുദായം സഹോദര സമുദായമാണെന്നും സുകുമാരന്‍ നായരെ ആരും അധിക്ഷേപിക്കരുതെന്നും വെള്ളാപ്പള്ളി കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു. പദ്മഭൂഷണ്‍ സമുദായത്തിന് കിട്ടിയ അംഗീകാരമാണെന്നും സീറോ ആയ താന്‍ ഹീറോ ആയെന്നും വെള്ളാപ്പള്ളി കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു. 

അതേസമയം, മുസ്​ലിംകള്‍ക്കെതിരല്ല താനെന്നും സമുദായത്തോടും സംഘടനകളോടും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടില്ലെന്നും എന്നാല്‍ ലീഗിനെതിരെ പറഞ്ഞതില്‍ ഉറച്ച് നില്‍ക്കുകയാണെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ആവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു. 'ലീഗുമായി ഒരു ഐക്യത്തിനുമില്ല. കൂടെക്കൂട്ടി എല്ലാം നേടിയെടുത്തിട്ട് അവര്‍ അവരുടെ വഴിക്ക് പോയി. ഇത് തുറന്ന് പറഞ്ഞതിനാണ് സമുദായത്തെ ആക്ഷേപിച്ചെന്ന് പറയുന്നത്. മുസ്​ലിംകളോട് എസ്എന്‍ഡിപിക്ക് വിരോധമില്ല. ലീഗ് അങ്ങനെയല്ല, സംഘടനയില്‍പ്പെട്ട ചിലരെ സംഘടനയ്ക്ക് വിരുദ്ധമായി തിരിച്ചു. പറഞ്ഞത് പറഞ്ഞത് തന്നെയാണ്. എന്നെ കത്തിച്ചാലും പ്രശ്നം തീരില്ല. പറഞ്ഞതില്‍ സംവാദത്തിനുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ വാ, ‍ഞാന്‍ തെളിയിക്കാം'- വെള്ളാപ്പള്ളി വിശദീകരിച്ചു. 

എസ്എന്‍ഡിപിയുടെ ഐക്യ ആശയം നായാടി മുതല്‍ നസ്രാണി വരെയാണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ അദ്ദേഹം ഐക്യം ആരെയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കാനല്ല, ഇലക്ഷന്‍ സ്റ്റണ്ടുമല്ലെന്നും വ്യക്തമാക്കി. എസ്എന്‍ഡിപിയുടേത് നേരത്തെ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച നയമാണ്. അതില്‍ പങ്കുചേരാമെന്നുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് പങ്കുചേരാമെന്നും പറഞ്ഞു. 

രാഷ്ട്രീയലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് എസ്എന്‍ഡിപി ഐക്യത്തിന് ശ്രമിച്ചതെന്നായിരുന്നു സുകുമാരന്‍ നായര്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ആരോപിച്ചത്. രാഷ്ട്രീയ പാര്‍ട്ടികളോട് സമദൂരമാണ് എന്‍എസ്എസ് എക്കാലവും പുലര്‍ത്തിയതെന്നും അങ്ങനെയുള്ളയിടത്തേക്ക് ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രീയ പാര്‍ട്ടി അധ്യക്ഷനായ മകനെ അയയ്ക്കാനുള്ള വെള്ളാപ്പള്ളി നടേശന്‍റെ തീരുമാനം സംശയാസ്പദമാണെന്നും അതിനാല്‍ ഐക്യത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് പിന്‍മാറുകയാണെന്നും ഐക്യം അട‍ഞ്ഞ അധ്യായമാണെന്നുമായിരുന്നു സുകുമാരന്‍ നായരുടെ വിശദീകരണം. ബോര്‍ഡ് എതിര്‍ത്തതിനാലാണ് ഐക്യത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് പിന്‍മാറുന്നതെന്ന വാര്‍ത്തകളും സുകുമാരന്‍ നായര്‍ തള്ളിയിരുന്നു.
