കോഴിക്കോട് ബേപ്പൂരിൽ വെളിച്ചെണ്ണ മില്ലിൽ വൻ തീപിടിത്തം. വെസ്റ്റ് മാഹിയിലെ രേണുക ഓയിൽ മില്ലിലാണ് ഇന്നലെ രാത്രി ഒന്‍പതരയോടെ തീപിടിത്തമുണ്ടായത്. മിൽ പൂർണമായും കത്തി നശിച്ചു. ആളപായമില്ല. കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലയിൽ നിന്നും മലപ്പുറത്തുനിന്നും 10 യൂണിറ്റ് ഫയർഫോഴ്‌സ് എത്തി ഏറെ നേരം പണിപ്പെട്ടാണ് തീ അണച്ചത്. രാത്രി ആരംഭിച്ച തീപിടുത്തം പുലർച്ചെ വരെ നീണ്ടു.

തീപിടുത്തതിന്റെ കാരണം വ്യക്തമല്ല. സംഭവസമയം തൊഴിലാളികൾ ആരും മില്ലിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. തീ ആളിപ്പടരുന്നത് കണ്ട നാട്ടുകാരാണ് അഗ്നി രക്ഷാസേനയെ വിവരം അറിയിക്കുന്നത്. ഓണം പ്രമാണിച്ച്കൂടുതൽ ഓർഡർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതിനാൽ വെളിച്ചെണ്ണ ധാരാളമായി സ്റ്റോക്ക് ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ ചാക്കുകളിലായി സൂക്ഷിച്ച കൊപ്ര, പൊളിച്ച തേങ്ങ, വിറക് എന്നിവയും മില്ലിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന് രൂപയുടെ നഷ്ടം കണക്കാക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. മില്ലിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന വാഹനങ്ങളും കത്തി നശിച്ചു. അതേസമയം, സമീപ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്ക് തീ പടരാതിരുന്നത് ആശ്വാസമായി.

ENGLISH SUMMARY:

A massive fire broke out at the Renuka Oil Mill in West Mahe, Kozhikode, completely destroying the facility late last night. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as no workers were present at the mill during the incident. Nine fire tender units from Kozhikode and Malappuram rushed to the scene to battle the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby areas. Substantial stocks of coconut oil, copra, and firewood stored for Onam season orders were reduced to ashes, causing losses estimated in lakhs along with vehicles parked on the premises.
