സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് എം പോക്സ് സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു. തിരുവനന്തപുരം കിളിമാനൂര്‍ സ്വദേശിയായ 43 കാരനാണ് രോഗം ബാധിച്ചത്. സൗദിയില്‍ നിന്ന് രണ്ടു ദിവസം മുമ്പെത്തിയ രോഗിമെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളജില്‍ ചികില്‍സയിലാണ്.

എലി, അണ്ണാന്‍, കുരങ്ങ് പോലുളള ജീവികളില്‍ നിന്ന് മനുഷ്യരിലേയ്ക്ക് പകരുന്ന രോഗമാണ്. രോഗം ബാധിച്ചയാളുടെ ശരീര സ്രവങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും രോഗം പകരും. രോഗം ബാധിച്ച യുവാവിന്‍റെ ആരോഗ്യനില തൃപ്തികരമാണ്.
