In a heartbreaking accident in Parakode, Pathanamthitta, a 60-year-old woman named Maryam Beevi lost her life after a speeding lorry overturned directly onto her house. The tragic incident occurred around 3:00 AM along the Kayamkulam–Punalur road near the Parakode School Junction. A heavy commercial vehicle loaded with construction metal lost steering control, snapped an electric post on the roadside, and crashed heavily down into the low-lying residential property. The impact caused the structural walls of the bedroom to collapse entirely onto a sleeping Maryam Beevi, trapping her under the debris and heavy concrete blocks. Local emergency services and Fire Force personnel rushed to the scene and managed to extricate her from the wreckage, but she was unfortunately declared dead on arrival.
