നവകേരള യാത്രയ്ക്കിടെ കെഎസ്​യു പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരെ മര്‍ദിച്ച കേസില്‍ പ്രതിയായ ഗണ്‍മാന്‍ സന്ദീപ് പിണറായി വിജയന്‍റെ സുരക്ഷാ സംഘത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് ഒഴിവായി. സന്ദീപാണ് പൊലീസിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിയത്. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായിരിക്കെ നല്‍കിയ അതിസുരക്ഷ പൂര്‍ണമായി പിന്‍വലിച്ചതോടെയാണ് സന്ദീപ് പൊലീസിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിയത്. അതേസമയം മറ്റൊരുപ്രതിയായ സുരക്ഷ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്‍ അനില്‍കുമാര്‍ പിണറായിക്കൊപ്പം തുടരുകയാണ്. പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവായതോടെ പിണറായി വിജയന് നല്‍കിയിരുന്ന Z+ സുരക്ഷ ഒഴിവാക്കി. നിലവില്‍ വൈ കാറ്റഗറി സുരക്ഷയാണ് പ്രതിപക്ഷനേതാവ്–മുന്‍മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി എന്നീ പരിഗണനകള്‍ വെച്ച് നല്‍കുന്നത്. ഇതോടെ ഗണ്‍മാന്‍മാര്‍ കൂടെയുണ്ടാവില്ല. 

ഗണ്‍മാനെ പിന്‍വലിച്ചതോടെ രണ്ട് പിഎസ്ഒമാരെ അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. എസ്കോര്‍ട്ട് വാഹനം ഒഴിവായെങ്കിലും പൈലറ്റ് വാഹനം തുടരും. വീട്ടിലും സുരക്ഷയ്ക്കായി പൊലീസിനെ നിയോഗിക്കും. ഇത് വര്‍ധിപ്പിക്കണോ എന്ന കാര്യത്തില്‍ ആഭ്യന്തര സുരക്ഷാ വിലയിരുത്തല്‍ കമ്മിറ്റി തീരുമാനിക്കും. 

2023 ഡിസംബര്‍ 15നായിരുന്നു അന്നത്തെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായിരുന്ന പിണറായി വിജയന്‍റെ ഗണ്‍മാന്‍മാര്‍ പ്രതിഷേധത്തിനെത്തിയ കെഎസ്​യു പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരെ തല്ലിച്ചതച്ചത്. യുഡിഎഫ് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ അധികാരമേറ്റതിന് പിന്നാലെ കേസ് അന്വേഷിക്കാന്‍ ആലപ്പുഴ ക്രൈംബ്രാഞ്ച് എസ്പിയായിരുന്ന എ.പി.ഷൗക്കത്തലിയുടെ മേല്‍നോട്ടത്തിലുള്ള പ്രത്യേക അന്വേഷണ സംഘത്തെ നിയോഗിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഈ കേസിലെ സാക്ഷിമൊഴികള്‍ ഇന്ന് മുതല്‍ അന്വേഷണ സംഘം രേഖപ്പെടുത്തും.

Sandeep, the police gunman accused of assaulting KSU activists during the Navakerala Yatra, has officially stepped down from Pinarayi Vijayan's security detail and returned to regular police duty. This transition follows a comprehensive reduction in security forces after the LDF's electoral defeat, which led to Vijayan resigning as Chief Minister and stepping into his new role as the Leader of the Opposition. Consequently, the previous high-level Z+ security cover has been revoked and replaced with a standard Y-category security clearance, resulting in the withdrawal of his official gunmen and escort vehicles. While Sandeep has left, another accused security officer, Anilkumar, currently continues to remain in the veteran CPI(M) leader's downsized security team, which now features two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) and a lone pilot vehicle. Meanwhile, the newly elected UDF government has fast-tracked the investigation into the December 2023 assault case under a Special Investigation Team led by Crime Branch SP A.P. Shaukath Ali, with formal witness testimonies scheduled to be recorded starting today.
