മലപ്പുറം തിരുവാലി റോഡരികിൽ കാട്ടിൽ ഒളിപ്പിച്ച നിലയിൽ വിദേശമദ്യം കണ്ടെടുത്തു. രണ്ട് ചാക്കുകളിലായി സൂക്ഷിച്ച 66 കുപ്പി വിദേശ നിർമിത മദ്യമാണ് പിടിച്ചെടുത്തത്. മഴക്കാലപൂർവ ശുചീകരണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായി തൊഴിലുറപ്പ് ജീവനക്കാരും കുടുംബശ്രീ പ്രവർത്തകരും ചേർന്ന് കാട് വെട്ടുന്നതിനിടയിലാണ് ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട നിലയിൽ ചാക്കുകൾ കണ്ടെത്തിയത്. ഉടന് സംഭവം പൊലീസിലറിയിച്ചു.
എടവണ്ണ പൊലീസെത്തി മദ്യക്കുപ്പികൾ കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. സംഭവത്തില് അന്വേഷണവും ആരംഭിച്ചു. പ്രാദേശികമായിട്ട് വിദേശമദ്യം വിൽപ്പന നടത്തുന്ന ഏതെങ്കിലും കക്ഷികളായിരിക്കും ഇതിന് പിറകിൽ എന്ന സംശയത്തിലാണ് പൊലീസ്. കുപ്പികള്ക്കാകട്ടെ അധികം പഴക്കമുള്ളതായും തോന്നുന്നില്ല. ഒരുപക്ഷേ സമീപദിവസങ്ങളില് കൊണ്ടുവച്ചതാകാനും സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്.

A significant cache of illicit foreign liquor was recovered from a forested roadside area in Thiruvali, Malappuram, on Friday morning. A total of 66 bottles of foreign-made alcohol, neatly packed and concealed inside two large sacks, were discovered hidden deep within the bushes. The discovery was made by local MGNREGS (National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme) and Kudumbashree workers who were clearing the thick undergrowth as part of a pre-monsoon sanitation drive. Upon spotting the suspicious baggage, the workers immediately alerted the local law enforcement authorities about the situation. An Edavanna police team promptly arrived at the location, took custody of the contraband, and registered a case to trace the individuals responsible for storing the illegal stock.
