കാസര്‍കോട് കുമ്പളയില്‍ ടോള്‍ പിരിക്കാനുള്ള നീക്കത്തിനെതിരെ സമരസമിതിയുടെ വന്‍ പ്രതിഷേധം. റോ‍ഡ് ഉപരോധിച്ച മഞ്ചേശ്വരം എം.എല്‍.എ എ.കെ.എം അഷ്റഫ് ഉള്‍പ്പടെയുള്ളവരെ പൊലീസ് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്ത് നീക്കി. ചര്‍ച്ച പരാജയപ്പെട്ടതോടെയാണ് പ്രതിഷേധം കനത്തത്. പ്രതിഷേധം കണക്കിലെടുത്ത് വന്‍ പൊലീസ് സന്നാഹമാണ് സ്ഥലത്ത് ഒരുക്കിയിരുന്നത്. പ്രതിഷേധക്കാരെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്ത് നീക്കിയതിന് പിന്നാലെ ടോള്‍ പിരിവ് തുടങ്ങി. 

ടോൾ വിരുദ്ധ സമിതിയുടെ ഹർജി ഹൈക്കോടതി പരിഗണിച്ച ശേഷമേ പിരിവ് തുടങ്ങൂയെന്ന്  ദേശീയപാത അതോറിറ്റിയും നേരത്തെ അറിയിച്ചതാണ്. ഹർജി പലതവണയായി മാറ്റിവെച്ചതോടെയാണ് പിരിവ് തുടങ്ങാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചത്. നിലവിലുള്ള തലപ്പാടി ടോളിൽ നിന്ന് 22 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരത്ത് ബൂത്ത് സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെയാണ് സമരസമിതി പ്രതിഷേധം. 

60 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരം എന്നാണ് വ്യവസ്ഥ എങ്കിലും കുമ്പളയിലെ ടോൾ ബൂത്ത് താൽക്കാലികം എന്നാണ് ദേശീയപാത അതോറിറ്റിയുടെ വിശദീകരണം.
