കണ്ണിനു പരുക്കേറ്റ പാലക്കാട്ടെ കൊമ്പൻ പിടി 5 നുള്ള ചികിൽസാ ദൗത്യം നാളെ തുടങ്ങും. മയക്കുവെടി വെച്ച് ചികിൽസ നൽകിയ ശേഷം ഉൾകാട്ടിലേക്ക് തുരത്താനാണ് ശ്രമം. വെറ്ററിനറി സർജൻ ഡോ.അരുൺ സക്കറിയയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ രാവിലെ 7.30നു ദൗത്യം തുടങ്ങും.
ദൗത്യത്തിനായി മുത്തങ്ങയിൽ നിന്ന് വിക്രം, ഭരതന് എന്നീ കുങ്കി ആനകളെ നേരത്തെ പാലക്കാട്ടെത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു. പരുക്ക് ഗുരുതരമെന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തിയാൽ ആനയെ ധോണിയിലെ വനംവകുപ്പിന്റെ ബേസ് ക്യാംപിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയേക്കും.
ENGLISH SUMMARY:
The treatment mission for PT-5, the tusker from Palakkad that sustained an eye injury, will begin tomorrow. The plan is to tranquilize the elephant and provide medical attention, followed by efforts to drive it back into the forest. The mission will be led by veterinary surgeon Dr. Arun Zachariah and will commence at 7:30 AM. Kumki elephants Vikram and Bharathan had already been brought from Muthanga to assist in the mission. If the injury is found to be serious, the elephant may be shifted to the forest department's base camp in Dhoni.
