കോഴിക്കോട് കൂടത്തായി കൂട്ടക്കൊലക്കേസില്‍ ജയിലില്‍ കഴിയുന്ന ഒന്നാം പ്രതി ജോളി വിവാഹമോചിതയായി.ജോളിക്കെതിരെ ഭര്‍ത്താവ് പൊന്നാമറ്റം ഷാജു സക്കറിയാസ് നല്‍കിയ വിവാഹമോചന ഹര്‍ജി കോഴിക്കോട് കുടുംബകോടതി അനുവദിച്ചു. ഇടുക്കി കട്ടപ്പന സ്വദേശിയായ ജോളിയുടെയും കൂടത്തായി സ്വദേശിയായ ഷാജുവിന്‍റെയും രണ്ടാം വിവാഹമായിരുന്നു. 

ജോളിയുടെ ആദ്യ ഭര്‍ത്താവ് റോയിയുടെ പിതൃസഹോദര പുത്രനാണ് ഷാജു. കൊലക്കേസില്‍ പ്രതിയായി റിമാന്‍ഡില്‍ കഴിയുന്ന ജോളി തന്നെ ആക്രമിക്കാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്നും കേസിലെ വിചാരണ നീളുകയാണെന്നും ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണ്ടിയായിരുന്നു ഷാജു വിവാഹമോചന ഹര്‍ജി നല്‍കിയത്. 2021 മുതല്‍ പലതവണ കേസ് പരിഗണിച്ചപ്പോഴും എതിര്‍ഭാഗം ഹാജരാവത്തതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് ഷാജുവിന്‍റെ ഹര്‍ജി അംഗീകരിച്ച് കോടതി വിവാഹമോചനം അനുവദിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

The Kozhikode Family Court approved the divorce petition filed by Shaju, citing fears of potential harm from Jolly and the prolonged trial of the murder case. This was the second marriage for both Jolly, originally from Kattappana, Idukki, and Shaju, from Koodathai. Shaju is also a paternal cousin of Jolly's first husband, Roy Thomas, who was one of her alleged victims. The divorce was granted after Jolly's side repeatedly failed to appear in court since the petition was filed in 2021.
