വലിയ ബോട്ടില്‍ മല്‍സ്യബന്ധനത്തിനു പോകുന്നവരുടെ ജീവിതമാണ് ട്രോളിങ്ങ് നിരോധനത്തോടെ വഴിമുട്ടുന്നത്.  വര്‍ഷങ്ങളായി മല്‍സ്യബന്ധന തൊഴിലില്‍ ഏര്‍പ്പെട്ടവര്‍ക്ക് മറ്റു തൊഴില്‍ അറിയുകയുമില്ല. വളരെ കുറച്ച് പേരാണ് മറ്റു തൊഴിലുകള്‍ക്കായി പോകുന്നത്. കൊല്ലം നീണ്ടകര, ശക്തികുളങ്ങര എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്‍  മല്‍സ്യത്തൊലിലാളികളുടെ ജീവിതംതന്നെ താറുമാറാകുന്നു. കടലില്‍ വീണ  കണ്ടൈനറുകളിലെ അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങളില്‍ തട്ടി പലരുടേയും വല നശിച്ചുപോകുകയും ബോട്ടിനു വരെ സാരമായ കേടുപാടുകള്‍ സംഭവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതും പലര്‍ക്കും ഇരുട്ടടിയായി.

ഇവര്‍ക്ക്  നിരോധന കാലയളവ് പഞ്ഞമാസമായി കണക്കാക്കിയാണ് ആശ്വസ പാക്കേജ് നല്‍കുന്നത്. അരി , ഗോതമ്പ് , തുശ്ചമായ തുക എന്നിവയാണ് പാക്കേജ്. മാന്യമായി ജീവിക്കാനുള്ള സഹായമായി ഇതിനെ മാറ്റണമെന്നാണ് ആവശ്യം

Fishermen in coastal areas like Neendakara and Sakthikulangara have urged the government to revise the existing relief package provided during the trawling ban period. They told Manorama News that these days bring hunger and uncertainty, especially for those who rely solely on fishing from large boats. The current package includes only rice, wheat, and a small financial aid, which is inadequate to support their families. Many are unable to find alternative employment due to lack of other skills. Additionally, damage caused to boats and nets due to underwater debris like fallen containers has made the situation worse. Fishermen demand a dignified and substantial relief policy that addresses the realities of their livelihood.
