തിരുവനന്തപുരം വര്ക്കല ചെറുന്നിയൂരില് തൊഴിലുറപ്പ് തൊഴിലാളികള്ക്കിടയിലേയ്ക്ക് കാര് പാഞ്ഞു കയറി വയോധികയ്ക്ക് ദാരുണാന്ത്യം. പാലച്ചിറ സ്വദേശി ശാന്തയാണ് മരിച്ചത്. തൊഴിലുറപ്പ് തൊഴിലാളികള് റോഡരികില് വിശ്രമിക്കുമ്പോള് നിയന്ത്രണം വിട്ട കാര് ഇടിച്ചു കയറുകയായിരുന്നു. കൊല്ലം കിളിവല്ലൂര് സ്വദേശി സുകേശന് എന്നയാളാണ് കാറോടിച്ചിരുന്നത്. ശാന്തയെ ഉടന് തന്നെ പാരിപ്പള്ളി മെഡിക്കല് കോളജിലെത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവന് രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല. മറ്റ് തൊഴിലാളികള് ഓടിമാറിയതിനാല് ആര്ക്കും പരുക്കില്ല.
